The backbone of our simulation framework is a discrete event simulator that is specifically adapted to simulate the movement of goods through complex maritime port system. In addition to simulating the movement of goods through complex transportation systems, it also includes dependencies from other critical infrastructures such as the power, cyber, emergency services.

The discrete event simulator is based on a directed graph realization of the underlying transportation system, which enables it to support numerous types of transportation hubs and networks, including sea ports, railways, and pipelines.
